Consumer protection: How do I dispute a direct debit that I never authorised?

If your account has been debited for a payment you did not authorise, you have up to 13 months to file a dispute with your bank. As soon as your request is received, your bank will credit your account in the disputed amount and may contact the merchant's bank to verify whether or not there is an authorised mandate. An unjustified dispute will result in cancellation of the refund and a possible additional charge from the merchant. So consider contacting the merchant to be sure that you never authorised a payment.
If you signed your mandate via SlimPay, you were sent an electronic copy of the mandate by e-mail. You can also contact SlimPay to get another copy.
